Review
' ... very clearly written ... with a user-friendly approach for the deliverer of training courses a very readable, first level account of much of the training field. The various approaches and techniques are covered in simple, brief approaches, the principal concentration, in this case I believe rightly so, on the bases of training - training needs, learning and trainer qualities.' Training Officer 'The author's style of writing is practical and friendly, and the book will be of interest to professional trainers, managers and team leaders concerned with staff development.' European Foundation for Management Development '... this is a useful guide for new trainers and managers wishing to run their own staff training programmes.' Aslib Book Guide '... written with an authoritative voice by an author whose own record as a practitioner adds value and relevance. It is difficult to indicate in a short review just how much the author has packed into a relatively short space - it is an impressive achievement and offers a unique blend of distilled experience and theory' Journal of Documentation 'it is a good guide for people new to running a training event.' Journal of the Association of Staff Development, January 2000 'This training guide is a delight to read. ... The author clearly is very knowledgeable in the area of learning and cognition. His expertise and advice regarding learning styles are extremely helpful ... This volume is a worthwhile and valuable addition to any trainer's library.
